J.R.Estes

Sr. Capt. of the
HAT TRICK

capt. Many charter boats routinely select a Captain for the day from a group of experienced part-time Captains that are available in the area. They are compensated on a per trip basis. For the full-time charter boats this is cumbersome and unreliable. Frankly, Good help is hard to find. This is not the case with Hat Trick Sportfishing Charters. Capt. Tony has had the good fortune of working with Capt. J.R. Estes for the past five years. You can rest assured that anyone working for Capt. Tony will be the highest caliber, not only with his angling skills but also his people skills.
No compromises on this one!

"I first met Capt. J.R. Estes several years ago. I was attending a Florida Sportfishing Association fishing seminar in the late 80's when I saw this crowd standing four people deep around a table. Inquisitively I pushed my way through the crowd and saw a very young man teaching grown adults how to rig offshore trolling baits! Astonished, I later found out J.R. was only 13 years old at the time! Well done Dad! In the subsequent years following, J.R. became one of the youngest GrandMasters in the history of the club. By the time he came to work for me as an adult, he had two years experience working as a mate on a full time charter boat. During the past five years J.R. has realized that sportfishing was his calling. He earned his captain license during early 1999. J.R. now has a major role with Hat Trick Sportfishing Charters and the Trick Fleet as senior captain. J.R. commands respect, for his fishing skills, with every professional Captain in our area. There is no question that his fishing skills are far more advanced and diverse than most of the pro's in this area. He has excellent people skills and has made me a better captain over the years. He also participates in presenting offshore seminars. He is excellent with light tackle techniques and he attacks the offshore waters with the "Aggressive Opportunistic Style" that has made the "Hat Trick" well known. Thanks J.R.!"
